TekSynap Cyber Security Analyst, Senior in Chantilly, Virginia

Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst willlead efforts toapply security principles, practices, and procedures under the Risk Management Framework to maintain compliance with applicable security regulations, such as Committee on National Security Systems Instructions (CNS SI), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National IndustrialSecurity Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), and applicable Intelligence Community Directives.The analyst will contribute to integrated teams that:

  • Monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision

  • Assistwith integrated, dynamic Cyber defense, coordinate andmaintainsecurity toolsets to support organizations’ continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs

  • Develop security assessment plans for systems, including theobjectives, scope, schedule,requireddocumentation,possible risks, and other logistical items for security assessments; develop cloud service provider testing approach from security perspective

  • Provide validation of security control tests for cloud service providers

  • Coordinating access to systems and approvals for scanning activities

  • Conducts ad hoc testing on an as-needed basis toassistwith development activities or vulnerability remediation

  • Reviews/tests system security controls (managerial, operational, and technical) todetermineadequacy against federal requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53) and mission context

  • Documents plans of action and milestones for corrective action following assessment activities and in response toidentifiedvulnerabilities

  • Drafts security policies and procedures including the system security plan, and agency specific policiesin accordance withNIST requirements

  • Routinely conducts risk assessments to quantify impacts of vulnerabilities.

  • Manageand control changes to specific systems, assessing the security impact of those changes, andmaintainingsystem security configuration

  • Supportachievement of Authorizations to Develop (ATD), Authorizations to Test (ATT), andAuthorizations to Operate (ATO), andworkingwith thecustomerto streamline ATD, ATT, and ATO activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currentlypossessan activeTopSecret security clearance

  • Years of experience required with degree:BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * *

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • CompTIA Security+ Cloud provider Security Certifications, such asAWS Certified Security – Specialty

  • Work schedule: “Normal work hours” constitute on average 8 hours a day,40 hoursper week (excluding breaks and meal periods) within standard operational hours occurring 0600-1800, Monday-Friday, excluding Federal holidays. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.

  • Amount of Travel: 20%
