Our Corporate IT department is seeking a Classified Junior Systems Administrator who is responsible for the administration of one or more data systems.

Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Classified Systems Administrator to join our team. This entry-level position will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of various data systems, including computer hardware, software, operating systems, and peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices. Under direct supervision, you will perform routine tasks while developing the necessary skills and competencies to advance in your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration of computer systems hardware, software, information systems, and related peripherals.

  • Maintain and upgrade servers, desktops, printers, storage devices, and other hardware components.

  • Install, configure, and perform routine updates on operating systems and applications.

  • Monitor and maintain basic security and recovery procedures, including system backups and scheduled tasks.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve standard system issues under supervision, escalating more complex problems as needed.

  • Assist in managing and executing system backup operations and recovery procedures.

  • Support system performance monitoring and recommend improvements when necessary.

  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, updates, and changes to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Collaborate with senior team members to develop and implement efficient and secure system processes.

  • Follow established procedures and practices to ensure system security and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and IT infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Understanding of basic security practices, backup procedures, and system recovery.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and grow professionally.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing tasks independently.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A proactive attitude toward learning new technologies and improving system efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some experience with system administration tasks or IT support

  • Knowledge of IT security standards and best practices.

  • Experience with cloud-based systems or virtual environments (a plus)

Work Environment:

  • This position involves 100% in-office work

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
