Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a CISCO Infrastructure Engineer to provide support for the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Cloud Service Offering contract. This position will require the employee to report full-time onsite in Chantilly, VA.

As a CISCO Infrastructure Engineer, you will serve as technology expert and work as part of a team or independently. You will participate in the design, documentation, implementation, and management of IT services for a hybrid cloud capability. You will manage Enterprise IT Systems to enable highly available and secure services between on-premises datacenter capabilities and cloud services.

HOW A CISCO INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Extensive Cisco networking management of multi vlan segmented local LAN, as well as connectivity to remote customer uplink.

  • Manage and maintain switches, network firewalls, IDS/IPS and router, including all ACL’s.

  • Maintain ownership of high availability, high security IT operations.

  • Develop and presents IT infrastructure standard operating procedures to senior management.

  • Review and implements periodic status updates on scheduled maintenance and upgrade of all infrastructure systems.

  • Troubleshoots hardware, network, storage, virtualization, software and application issues to identify bottlenecks in operations and provides recommendations to ensure optimum performance and continuity of critical systems.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of standards and best practices surrounding the use of enterprise products and applications.

  • Provides technical insight into the determination of technical inadequacies and/or deficiencies.

  • Generates technical strategies for enhanced operations, as well as ways to improve productivity across functional areas within the organization.

  • Participate in technical assessments and reviews to validate the technical approach and associated work products.

  • May provide guidance and direction to other professionals, acts in a consulting and/or advisory capacity; coordinates resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, possesses ability to meet and operate under deadlines.

  • Work with and provide information/documentation to a Cybersecurity team to obtain and maintain accreditation packages (checklists, STIGs, diagrams, etc).

  • Participate in Cyber evaluation exercises (environment scans, penetration testing, audits, etc).

  • Implementation of environment changes through a request for change (RFC) process.

  • Backup support for Systems Engineer regarding Microsoft OS, Active Directory, Group Policy and VMware services.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED – REQUIRED:

  • CLEARANCE : Active DoD Secret clearance. Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

  • CERTIFICATION : IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent)

  • EDUCATION : Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent work experience in lieu of degree

  • YEAR'S EXPERIENCE: 6+ years experience

  • TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Expertise in implementing, ideally for DoD customers, including the following:

  • Cisco networking equipment (Primary focus):

  • Router configs for BGP connection to remote customer and ACL management. (mandatory)

  • Switch configurations with multiple vlans and understanding of spanning tree. (mandatory)

  • ASA hardware firewall with ACL management and IDS/IPS management. (mandatory)

  • Hardening per DISA STIG Guidelines.

  • Cisco ISE experience.

  • 802.1x port Authentication with MAB management.

  • Windows Server/desktop (Secondary focus, backup the primary Windows Admin)

  • Active Directory

  • GPO management

  • Patch management

  • WSUS

  • Hardening per DISA STIG Guidelines.

  • DoD CC SRG and STIGs (mandatory)

  • LOCATION : Chantilly, VA (All work will require performance in a secure facility in Chantilly, VA. Telecommuting MAY be allowed for non-secure performance.)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED – DESIRED:

  • CLEARANCE : Active DoD Top Secret clearance

  • CERTIFICATION : CCNA, CCNP or other related CISCO certification

  • TECHNICAL SKILLS: DoD Cloud Environments (IL4/IL5/IL6) – on both classified and unclassified networks

  • SKILLS & ABILITIES: Willingness to learn new skills

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
