Robert Half Senior Administrative Assistant in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

Description

We are seeking an Assistant to the Administrative Services Supervisor to manage multiple offices providing administration and enforcement services to approximately 170 municipal governments. The candidate will be the key municipal representative for building projects and code enforcement duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Balance the needs and goals of municipal clients while upholding local ordinances and state laws.

  • Provide customer service tailored to the individual needs of each project or constituent.

  • Handle complex problems encompassing technical building issues, financial transactions, scheduling requirements, code violations, political implications, and employee difficulties.

  • Ensure a safe built environment within the jurisdictions while promoting voluntary compliance.

  • Manage and prioritize own workload along with the daily needs of 5 offices, 40 - 50 employees, and approximately 170 municipal clients.

  • Oversee activities linked to around 4,000 open building permits and varied daily enforcement activities.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs and processes of municipal government and manage those needs from the perspective of a for-profit corporation.

  • Assist municipal clients with projects in the built environment and with needs related to Zoning, Code Enforcement, Land Development, etc.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Strong management abilities with the willingness to acquire new skills rapidly.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and adapt to the processes of municipal government.

  • Proficiency in working with administrative staff, technical staff, politicians, municipal attorneys, and the general public in all areas of municipal code administration.

  • Capable of handling HR aspects similar to any other job with an HR component.
