Aerotek Machine Operator in CHAMBERSBURG, Pennsylvania

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The machine operator will be responsible for the following job duties:

  • Using a manual lathe and a horizontal boring machine to machine parts that will be welded onto the tops of forks
  • Working from blueprints (metric) to determine specific fabrication requirements for the various machined parts
  • Using hand tools and grinders to clean and finish parts after they are machined as required
  • Performing first piece inspection of machined parts by utilizing rulers, dial calipers, and micrometers to ensure parts are within tolerance allowances
  • Using overhead cranes and hoists to lift parts into fabrication machinery to machine parts

All employees must be willing to lend a hand in various production areas.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 720 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in CHAMBERSBURG, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

Newer facility, small machine shop with a production floor laid out in 'lean manufacturing' flow. Machines included on the production floor are all condensed to one area (manual lathe and horizontal boring machine are side by side to allow operator to run the machines simultaneously). Well lit with high ceilings, minimal amount of noise outside of machining and welding areas. Warehouse of facility is in the back. Only a total of six production employees on the floor as business currently stands, must be comfortable working in small teams.
