Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, Traveling (d aylight flex time) Hourly $27.00 hourly

IDD Position for Residential Group Homes

Tired of bedside nursing? Looking for more flexibility? We are seeking a fulltime LPN. This is not your typical nursing position.

Location: Chambersburg, PA

Hours: Flexible Monday-Friday 8 hour days (Holidays and weekends off). No on call rotation responsibilities. Flexibility with start times.

Pay rate: Starting wage of $27.00 an hour and Up based on experience. Time in a half after 40 hours weekly

  • Candidates must be strongly self-motivated and possess excellent time management skills.

  • Daily tasks such as coordination of client discharges, intake assessments of new clients, auditing of in home medications and medication administration records, management of new medication orders and training of staff for new diagnoses or procedures.

  • The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of basic nursing concepts including pharmacology. They must thrive in a fast paced environment and be able to adequately manage multiple tasks within a day.

  • Great communication skills and organizational skills are a must to thrive in this position.

  • Looking for someone who can think outside of the box and a strong desire to learn and grow as a nurse.

  • A general understanding of computers such as email, excel and Microsoft word is beneficial. Knowledge of 6400 regulations are a plus, but we will train.

  • Monitor the health conditions of individuals served and ensure quality services are provided.

  • Administer medications and provide documentation as well as oversee and monitor staff members who administer medications.

  • Provide prescribed medical treatment by physician’s orders and personal care services.

  • Conduct assessments, implement health care services to be included in each Individual Service Plan (ISP), and respond to changes of condition.

  • Provide training to staff members including universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.

  • Serve as liaison and advocate with other medical and professional service providers.

  • Provide training for individuals served with topics including self-medication, prescribed treatments, sex education/STD prevention and smoking cessation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or related field, or a graduate of an accredited LPN program.

  • One year of experience working with population served in a nursing capacity.

  • Current state LPN or LVN License.

  • Additional certifications as required by state licensing regulations such as CPR/FA

  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, individuals served, and families.
