Job Title: Dispatcher

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient dispatcher with prior dispatch or customer service experience. Candidates with experience in a logistics customer service environment are preferred. The ideal candidate should possess strong computer skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the capability to navigate through multiple screens and programs. Training on internal systems and Microsoft Office will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers and equipment to ensure efficient utilization and minimum delay time.

• Maintain communication and ensure employees have adequate knowledge and resources to accomplish assigned duties.

• Administer and support safety to ensure a safe workplace and compliance with DOT regulations and multistate laws.

• Utilize independent judgment to manage work assignments, monitor performance, and provide feedback on duties, policies, and procedures.

• Coordinate equipment repair with maintenance staff to reduce mechanical failures and delays.

• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information.

• Meet committed delivery times and ensure quality service.

• Make confident decisions under time pressure.

• Communicate effectively both in person and on the phone with management, customers, and drivers, providing concise instructions or information.

• Comfortable with Microsoft Office/Excel or warehouse management system

• Comfortable going on the floor

• High school diploma or equivalent

• One year of customer contact experience

• 2-3 years of experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience within the distribution and/or transportation industry is a plus

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. The main office and warehouse, originally built in 2004 with 100,000 square feet, has expanded with an additional 40,000 square feet in 2012 and a final 60,000 square feet addition completed in January 2015.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00
