Touro University Senior IT Support Technician in Central Islip, New York

Overview

The Senior IT Support Technician will be responsible for general technical support for students, faculty and staff of the Touro University Long Island Campus. As part of Touro Long Island Campus IT team the Senior IT Support Technician will provide advanced technical consulting, incident management, and fulfill support service requests in the desktop computing and building infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Be well-organized and demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail as well as the ability to adapt to and learn a broad range of services, applications, and technologies.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills needed to document issues thoroughly as well as communicate effectively to make complex issues understandable to a variety of users.

  • Remain self-motivated in order to work well both independently and as a team player to ensure resolution to all technical issues in a timely way.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines, take on action items as well as coordinate and track progress in an ever-changing environment.

  • Have the ability to establish and maintain excellent rapport with individuals and/or departments through strong customer service and relationship building skills.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 issues with end users.

  • Troubleshoot and triage Level 2/3 and escalates as needed.

  • Utilizes the Information Technology Service Management tools to open track and monitor service requests

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience and knowledge of Windows and Mac OSX operating systems.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook

  • Experience with Virtual meeting software, Zoom and/or Teams

  • Basic understanding of Audio-Visual equipment.

  • Basic Networking, Programming / SQL, Active Directory (Users and Computers), GPOs, DNS, DHCP, VMware and Microsoft 365 basic administration.

  • Preferred: Bitdefender, FortiNAC, PDQ, and ServiceNow.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required

  • Customer service and team orientated required

  • A high degree of interpersonal competency: professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion required

  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required

  • Internet research

Working Conditions

  • Extensive time sitting and standing

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.

Maximum Salary

USD $75,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $60,000.00/Yr.
