We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York. We are a multi-specialty healthcare provider caring for our community through Primary and Specialty Medical Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. NYS Patient-Centered Medical Home Chronic Care Management Program Telemedicine & Virtual Care Services Program (https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/governor.ny.gov/files/atoms/files/long_island_awardees.pdf) Integrated Primary & Behavioral Healthcare The CMO is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all clinical operations, including but not limited to client care, work related staff issues, and state mandated committee participation. They will plan, organize and direct the daily operations of the Medical Department implementing a vision of care that promotes collaborative efforts of multiple disciplines. This position is a balance of strategic work and hands-on patient care alongside other team members. This professional may also be called upon for other emergency medical situations and to work on special projects. CMO Job Summary & Requirements: LISH is currently searching for an engaging, progressive, transformational leader to fill the role of Chief Medical Officer. The CMO is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all clinical operations through:
Developing and maintaining both short and long range plans,
Providing adequate measurements of the Health Center’s progress on Quality Initiatives through oversight and collaboration with the Director of Quality,
Active participation in meetings regarding clinical services including but not limited to quality assurance, provider staff meetings, primary care, behavioral health, dental and habilitative meetings.
Attend and participate in monthly Board of Directors meetings
Recommending and supporting policy-making decisions and,
Initiates strategic efforts to sustain and grow the organization through identifying and documenting the necessity for change in the provision of services by the organization and result in the institution of such change, where indicated.
Knowledge and Skills
Must have in depth working knowledge of clinical administration, operations, financial management, strategic planning, physician relations, patient care, quality assessment and improvement
Must have well developed interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and public speaking)
Actively participates in the care of patients. This work shall not exceed 50% of work time
Visits each clinical site at least once per month or more often if necessary
Support all Primary Care and Specialist providers as needed including evaluating labs, diagnostics and providing short term medication coverage as necessary
Work with the Director of Quality on initiatives to promote high quality patient care
Oversees all aspects of the LISH Quality Assurance Program including developing a collaborative and cohesive working relationship with the Director of Quality on initiatives to promote high quality patient care
Provides guidance and support on special projects like Virtual Care, Chronic Care Management and Remote Patient Monitoring
Responsible for presenting credentialed staff to Board of Directors as required by the Medical Bylaws for Credentialing and Recredentialing
Participate in final review of medically related Policy & Procedures.
Works with Director of Operations to ensure hours of operations and locations meet community and patient needs
Works with the Finance Team to help prepare budget, and as needed

Required
5 years: Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facility
5 years: Five to ten years of experience in and demonstrated commitment to the care of adolescents and adults with complex, chronic medical issues and/or experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population.
1 year: Must be Board Certified
1 year: Must be licensed as a Physician/DO by NYS
Preferred
3 years: Experience with Virtual Care Services
3 years: Experience with FQHC's
