The Business Technology Platforms group is part of the Enterprise Technology Core Systems & Platforms organization. Here, we are responsible for the products and platforms that support Disney's corporate business functions and enterprise service management platforms (Appian, Salesforce, & ServiceNow). We are looking for a Lead ServiceNow Software Engineer to ensure that we are building outstanding products, and continuously maintaining and enhancing existing products to improve what differentiates us from others.

What You Will Do

  • Own the development (or develops, test, and deploys) of medium to large, innovative software solutions and projects that meet specifications and impact future development. This could include reviewing/writing code, leading programming & testing, and debugging

  • Manage oversight of platform projects and related agile delivery teams, where a project comprises of multiple components, throughout its entire lifecycle

  • Design the component tasks of software development projects, and conceive and set technical architectural direction

  • Act as a peer group leader to help train staff on Software Engineering standards and processes - service as an escalation point for difficult problems and sophisticated inquiries

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years experience in a Software Engineering type role

  • Validated experience developing solutions in the ServiceNow platform (Service Portals, Employee Service Center, HR Service Delivery, etc.)

  • Ability to develop, create, and test server-side with advanced JavaScript, Angular, Unix Shell, and Windows PowerShell scripts

  • Demonstrated success in platform automation, workflows, abstraction APIs, and Scripted Rest API Framework

  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 or later and ITSM best methodologies

  • Experience working in an outsourced IT environment and building strong collaborative vendor relationships

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies (PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, ICP-ACC, etc.) and leading the full software development lifecycle

  • Effective communication, writing, collaboration, and executive presentation skills - with an ability to translate sophisticated ideas across multiple domains into understandable strategies, requirements value statements, and business outcomes

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related discipline, and/or related designation/s (ServiceNow, etc.)

  • Experience with the following platforms: SAP, Workday, SuccessFactors

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $152,200 to $204,100 per year and in Seattle, WA is $159,500 to $213,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
