Job Title: Construction Laborer
Job Description
We are seeking skilled laborers for our Cedar Rapids location, specializing in pre-engineered metal buildings. The successful candidate will be involved in erecting metal posts and studs, attaching sheet metal, insulating, and drywalling the interior. You will assist experienced tradespeople on the job, moving materials and tools, and operating lifts. This role involves using a power drill to attach all sheet metal and requires physical endurance as some of the metal sheets can weigh up to 100 lbs.
Responsibilities
Erect metal posts and studs
Attach sheet metal
Insulate and drywall the interior of buildings
Assist experienced tradespeople on the job
Move materials and tools
Operate lifts
Use a power drill to attach all sheet metal
Essential Skills
Minimum 6 months of construction experience
Valid Driver's License
Ability to lift 75 lbs
Able to work from a lift 20ft+ in the air

Work Environment
We operate in new, unoccupied construction buildings, working in teams of 3-5 people. The normal working hours are 7am-5pm from Monday to Friday, with occasional longer days when needed. We also plan to work a couple of Saturdays a month. The dress code includes jeans, a t-shirt/sweatshirt, and leather work boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00
