Description We are in search of a Tax Analyst to work remotely, utilizing provided equipment. This role is within the tax accounting sector, specifically dealing with public staff tax duties. The Tax Analyst will be part of a team, working to assess tax laws annually, update systems according to changes, and ensure accuracy in the implemented changes. They will also communicate with state authorities to ensure compliance with tax changes. This role is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but can be performed anywhere as it is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate tax laws annually, identifying any changes that need to be implemented in our processes and software.

• Update systems according to changes in tax laws, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Test changes made in the system to ensure there are no errors.

• Participate in daily meetings to review progress and plan the division of tasks with the team.

• Communicate effectively with state authorities to ensure all changes made in the system comply with updated tax laws.

• Become a subject matter expert in a specific area of tax law, as assigned by the team lead.

• Utilize Mathmaster software to implement and test changes in the system.

• Ensure proficiency in Excel and comfort with using technology such as Zoom or Teams for communication.

• Utilize skills in CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem, Management System, Microsoft Excel, Accounting Functions, Auditing, Cash Activity, Compliance, and Customer Service.

• Work in collaboration with the team to divide and conquer tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Familiarity with Gosystem and Management System

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in various Accounting Functions

• Thorough knowledge of Auditing procedures

• Ability to manage Cash Activity effectively

• Strong understanding of Compliance regulations and standards

• Excellent Customer Service skills with an ability to communicate effectively with clients

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA certification is preferable

• Proven experience in a similar role within a public accounting firm

• Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
