Job Title: Operator
Job Description
As an operator, you will follow established processes and CIP procedures, make necessary adjustments on the processes or processing equipment, either manually or through a central processing computer. You will follow the production schedule, perform sanitation on equipment and assigned areas, record and maintain accurate written and electronic information for various processes, and ensure adherence to safety, GMP, and food safety rules.
Responsibilities
Follow established process and CIP procedures.
Adjust processes or processing equipment manually or through a central processing computer.
Adhere to the production schedule.
Perform sanitation on equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and other assigned areas.
Record and maintain accurate information for autolysis, separation, filtration, concentration, and CIP’s.
Understand and follow safety, GMP, food safety, and other plant rules.
Read and understand material safety data for chemicals or ingredients used in the process.
Follow procedures/precautions when working with chemicals or ingredients.
Notify the supervisor of equipment failures and major process problems.
Communicate and interact respectfully and effectively with other employees and management personnel.
Learn all equipment in the process and cover shifts as scheduled.
Train and work in other departments as needed, including cleaning and filling in for absences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
1+ years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to be forklift certified.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
Perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Perform simple mathematical analysis using units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Packaging experience.
Production experience.
Knowledge of GMP and packing procedures.
General labor experience.

Work Environment
Night shift, rotating shift from 6pm to 6am. The work environment is hot.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
