Xylem Regional EHS Manager in Cedar Park, Texas

Xylem seeks to hire a Regional Environment, Health, & Safety Manager. This position will assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental, safety and health policies and procedures and best practices, particularly related to product manufacturing, transportation and services for rental and sales of industrial pumps and related equipment at branch offices located across the United States.

Responsibilities:

Planning and Implementation

• Develop and maintain environmental policies and procedures

• Create and oversee environmental goals and objectives

• Monitor and evaluate environmental programs and initiatives

• Identify and address potential environmental risks and hazards

• Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations

Team Management

• Oversee a team of environmental technicians

• Provide training and guidance to team members

• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members

• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback

• Foster a positive and productive work environment

Data Collection and Reporting

• Collect and analyze data related to environmental impact and compliance

• Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies

• Maintain accurate records and documentation

• Communicate environmental performance to upper management

Budgeting and Resource Management

• Develop and manage environmental budget

• Identify cost saving opportunities and implement strategies

• Source and purchase necessary equipment and materials

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and resources

Stakeholder Communication

• Communicate with government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders

• Address any concerns or complaints related to environmental impact

• Participate in public meetings and hearings regarding environmental issues

• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions

Team Management:

• Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance.

• Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.

• Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.

Adaptability:

• Supervisors often encounter changing priorities and unexpected challenges. Being adaptable and flexible is crucial.

• Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on organizational goals and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field with at least 4 years experience, with at least 1 year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

• Advanced EHS certifications, such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP).

• Expert level data analysis and risk assessment capabilities. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report findings and make recommendations.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to group projects.

Experience in Chemical and Environmental Management

Salary range:

$72,300.00 - $130,100.00
