HR Administrative Assistant

 

The HR Administrative Assistant will assist the Employment Manager and support the Human Resource office with managing student workers, account management, and other administrative duties. This position is responsible for processing essential HR functions, including Electronic Payroll Action Forms (EPAFs) and new hire paperwork. The role also includes the supervision of front desk student employees. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this role, as the assistant will process time-sensitive documents, answer inquiries, and support HR staff in their day-to-day operations. This position requires a high level of discretion, the ability to handle confidential information, and strong communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Support the Employment Manager in the day-to-day operations.

• Supervise and manage front desk student employees.

• Process forms for new hires, verifications of employment, EPAFs, and others. Administrative duties such as taking phone calls, answering emails, and walk-in inquiries. In addition, managing purchase and inventory of office equipment.

• Account management including reconciling purchasing cards, statements, and accounts. Assist in overseeing the department budget.

• Assist with the planning and developing events (i.e. retreats, meetings, etc.).

• Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

Minimum:

 

• Highschool diploma or GED.

• Two (2) years of relevant administrative experience in an office setting (education can be substituted for experience).

• Basic knowledge of office management.

• Communication skills both verbal and written as well as organizational skills.

• Proficient in Google Suite.

 

Preferred:

 

• Some college coursework or degree.

• One (1) year of Human Resources experience or related field.

• Experience supervising or managing employees.

• Ellucian Banner experience.
