As a Financial Paraplanner for State Bank of Southern Utah you will work as a team with a Senior Financial Advisor. Together you will strive to understand existing and prospective clients’ goals and visions to uncover financial solutions that put them on a path to achieve their financial objectives. Problem solve for our customers by researching and proposing educated financial strategies which lead to long and lasting, value-based relationships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily support the Senior Financial Advisor in servicing existing clients and prospecting new clients

  • Build rapport with customers/clients and foster long-term relationships

  • A desire to help others, both financially and through community involvement

  • Knowledge of personal investment products such as mutual funds, stocks, bonds, money market funds, fixed and variable annuities.

  • Under the direction of the senior financial advisor gather and input client data and goals into planning software and create individual financial plans

  • Periodically meets with client to review and update client needs ensuring investment objectives and goals are progressing according to plan. Meetings to occur at the direction of the senior advisor.

  • Pursues training, educational and self-development opportunities—not only to assure mandatory CE requirements are satisfied but to increase skill level and remain current on tax, financial, estate, investment, and retirement developments and laws.

  • Represents the Bank by being active in the community. Actively participates in service organizations, community activities, etc. to promote a positive organization image and to generate leads for the new business efforts.

  • Develop New business from referrals of existing clients and centers of influence.

  • Formulate and strengthen long lasting, trusting, client relationships providing consistent client communication and outstanding client service.

  • Comply with legal and regulatory guidelines

  • Additional duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must pass a credit & background check

  • High School Graduate or (GED)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree

  • Prior work experience in Financial Advising

  • Experience with Money Guide Pro

    SKILLS

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Relationship management

  • Working knowledge of personal computer and software such as Microsoft Office

  • Ability to interact effectively with other bank personnel, management and co-workers

  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize work assignments, sound judgment, courtesy, tact and diplomacy

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and goal oriented

  • High Integrity

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain Series 7 and 66 Securities Licenses Life and Health Insurance Licenses in 90-120 days.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
