Description

Fast growing manufacturing company in Cary is seeking a Staff Accountant for their team, The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of accounting experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business. This Staff Accountant is responsible for various accounting duties in the Finance Department, primarily in Accounts Receivable area (invoicing, cash applications and collections activities). Additional duties will include account reconciliations, reporting, and SOX controls. Advanced Excel skills are required as are excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct account reconciliations to ensure accurate records

• Manage vendor relationships to facilitate smooth financial operations

• Perform journal entries as part of the month-end close process

• Handle cash applications and commercial collections activities

• Oversee invoicing processes to ensure timely and accurate billing

• Ensure compliance with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations

• Identify and rectify account discrepancies

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks

• Prepare and deliver financial reports for internal purposes

• Maintain the general ledger to reflect accurate financial transactions.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a related field

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries

• Experience in performing Month End Close procedures

• Skills in Account Reconciliation

• Ability to manage Vendor Relationships

• Experience in Commercial Collections

• Understanding of SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Cash Applications

• Ability to resolve Account Discrepancies
