Description

Fast growing Not for Profit organization in Cary is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2+ years of accounting experience. This position will be responsible for conducting billing, managing financial reports, records, and accounts, including but not limited to, maintaining general ledger-related activities.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process both accounts payable and receivable

• Prepare and record bills, receipts, revenue, and donations to maintain accurate financial records.

• Develop monthly general ledger reports in compliance with non-profit reporting standards.

• Approve program budgets and post all agency journal entries prior to month end close.

• Support for the annual audit process and tax return preparation.

• Engage in technical accounting research to stay informed of best practices and industry standards.

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the organization's business operations, financial systems, and general ledger structure.

• Assist in the preparation of budget schedules as needed, and monitor budget adherence using Microsoft Excel.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial information.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector.

• Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Demonstrated ability to perform Bank Reconciliations.

• Strong understanding of General Ledger management.

• Experience in preparing Journal Entries.

• Proficient in executing Month End Close processes.

• Hands-on experience with Sage Accounting Software.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Proven ability to monitor and manage budgets.

• Experience in conducting and supporting Financial Audits.
