Job Title: Project Engineer (Roadway)Job Description

The Project Engineer will be expected to complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets. This individual will also assist with mentoring junior transportation staff. The most frequent and essential work activities include providing roadway design and project assistance to the transportation design group, communicating adequately with all team members, ensuring the QA/QC process is followed, and marketing NCDOT, SCDOT, and local municipalities to obtain new contracts.

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Cary, North Carolina and some days remote.

Work Environment

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work will primarily involve working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion. The role requires visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear, and sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to carry, lift, and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required. Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
