A Shaw Contract Fabrication Specialist is responsible for the project management of all aspects of hard surface, new platforms or categories, and product development through the design, manufacturing and launch process. The Fabrication Specialist will assist the Hard Surface Fabrication Manager to help manage and support new products and processes, ensuring standards, data and materials are established and documented. Our product development studio's human-centered approach to design takes customer insights and interprets concepts into the finished product. Every project begins here and delivers a solution to the market that can have an impact on where we work, learn, heal, and live.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a strategic partner with design, manufacturing, testing lab and marketing to ensure new product standards and testing information are recorded, maintained and accurate.

  • Material handles all aspects of hard surface projects; coordinate sample material to be cut into standards and create purchase orders for sample material, track and schedule product reviews.

  • Responsible for layout of material for reviews and maintaining all standards for Product development and Quality Teams.

  • Work with Quality to obtain material needed for testing and ensure all specifications are entered accurately into the data management system and new products meet all requirements.

  • Assist with photoshoots for products as needed.

  • Daily follow up on emails from global vendors and partners to give and receive answers quickly to keep projects moving, including participating in different time zone meeting times.

  • Oversee production schedules and workflow to meet demand requirements and develop timelines.

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure product excellence.

  • Implement best practices and knowledge sharing within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Manage technical and system requirements for all new platforms.

  • Work with Marketing to ensure all specifications are accurate and populated on the website correctly.

  • Assist with all other resilient and new category projects as needed.

  • Assist Design and Marketing with materials and information needed for product launches and sales training.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in M365 programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

  • Ability to travel - willingness to travel both domestically and internationally if needed as required by position

  • Able to routinely lift 20 pounds plus.

  • Interstate travel to different manufacturing facilities, both in personal vehicle and/or company van.

  • Forklift operator experience or willing to obtain training and certification

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must excel working independently and in a collaborative team environment

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business partners

  • Associate degree or Higher, OR 1-3 years of equivalent work experience in supply chain operations, business, manufacturing, or engineering

  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Hard Surfaces

Please note this position is based out of Cartersville, Georgia and works from our new highly sustainable Create Centre campus, which is home to our product development and marketing teams for our commercial division.

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
