Description:

Employee feeds lath referred to as "stickers" into the feed magazines of the automated lumber stacker.  The employee is responsible for grasping several stickers each time, arranging them into a stack and then dropping the stickers in to the feed magazines on the stacker.  This cycle is repetitive in nature and must be performed several times per minute.  At the direction of the stacker operator, the employee grabs several "2x4" pieces and drops onto the unit of lumber that has just been stacked.* *

Stick Placer duties and responsibilities include:

  • Must possess appropriate eye-hand coordination to perform repetitive grasping, manipulating stickers and inserting in magazines in a safe, efficient manner
  • Must be motivated to maintain work pace consistent with co-workers and production needs
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Must work well in a team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends
  • Eye hand coordination
  • Proper body mechanics to avoid twisting or bending at waist when picking or placing stickers
  • Able to perform repetitive lift, carry and place up to 10# per cycle
  • Work well under pressure
  • Follow verbal instructions
  • Physically fit to perform duties on an ongoing basis
  • Stand for 95% of the shift duration
  • Some sawmill experience

Physical ability:

  • Must be able to stand and work up to 11 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and adhere to a no drug policy

Shift hours and days of work:

  • Day shift hours 

Pay:

  • $20.60-21.00
