DXC Technology Senior Manager: Application Modernization Expert in Carson City, Nevada

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

  • As an application modernization expert in complex programs, your primary responsibility will be to provide expert guidance and support to clients in their efforts to modernize their existing applications and infrastructure. You will love problem solving for our clients. You will also work closely with clients to assess their current systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to modernize their applications, making them more efficient, scalable, and aligned with current technology trends. Your technical expertise and ability to understand clients' business needs will be crucial in helping them achieve their application modernization goals.

  • Confidently conduct a business value conversation and sell to board level clients and directors, leveraging and building great relationships. Skilled at developing concrete pipelines of application led business

  • Building out well architected solutions for clients from our portfolio which you engineer top-down and bottom-up for perfect execution by delivery teams

  • Defining unique, compelling, and differentiating product/service value propositions and messaging that sets us apart in the market

  • Creating sales leadership and tools to equip the sales team with the necessary tools, training, and resources to effectively sell and position DXC’s unique selling proposition.

  • Providing QA of delivery of your sold projects from your hands on experience of apps delivery in the client environment

Basic Qualifications

  • Deep application centric experience of development, operations, testing, architectures, software development lifecycle, DevOps, microservices and cloud native development

  • Strong understanding of application modernization approaches, such as rearchitecting, refactoring, rewriting, and containerization into micro services architectures.

  • Experience defining unique product/service value propositions and determining how it fits within the market landscape. This includes identifying the key benefits and features that differentiate the offering from competitors

  • Good legacy experience of applications on Unix, Linux, windows, mainframe, hypervisor architectures

  • Good industry specific insight in applications

  • Practical experience of data modelling, databases, machine learning and AI

Other Qualifications

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in architecture and application modernization in large-scale enterprise environments

  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive consensus across diverse groups

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, customers/prospects, support personnel and management

  • Good consulting skills at managing projects with high hygiene

  • Excellent creative thinking, problem solving, planning, time-management and organization skills to balance and prioritize work

  • Good human relations skills to select, develop, mentor, discipline and reward employees

  • Ability to create and maintain formal and informal networks

  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment

  • It is expected, at this time, you may be required as part of the job function to travel up to 90%, also internationally

  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship nor will in the future

  • This position is only remote within the United States

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $125,600 - $233,200.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
