Cardinal Health Artificial Intelligence Governance Lead, Senior Advisor in Carson City, Nevada

As an AI governance lead and a key member of our AI CoE, you will play a pivotal role in driving this transformation. The Lead AI Governance is responsible for establishing and overseeing the implementation of AI governance policies, ensuring AI systems are developed and deployed in an ethical, fair, transparent, and accountable manner. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and enforce AI governance frameworks that align with organizational goals and adhere to relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain an AI catalog that documents all AI initiatives, tools, models, and their respective governance statuses.

  • Develop and implement an ROI framework for evaluating the effectiveness and financial impact of AI projects across the organization.

  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AI governance processes to ensure consistency and compliance in all AI-related activities. Change management to help drive newly defined processes forward across the organization.

  • Lead the creation and continuous improvement of internal AI governance policies and guidelines.

  • Oversee adherence to established AI policy guidelines and ethical standards throughout the organization.

  • Ensure AI initiatives comply with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Provide expert advice on navigating risks related to data privacy and AI vulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with teams managing AI-related risks to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential hazards. Collaborate with internal experts in legal, IT, publishing, ethics, and security roles

  • Deploy ongoing monitoring mechanisms to maintain conformity with ethical standards across AI systems' operational span.

  • Manage the procedural aspects of AI governance to secure a methodical and replicable framework.

  • Advocate for transparency and accountability in the use of artificial intelligence.

  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities related to AI including Generative AI

  • Analyze complex data and unique outcomes/customers in the different Business Units and be able to build and drive a cohesive story around the value of AI at the enterprise level.

  • Understanding how the organization really functions, beyond just the formal structure, is critical. The lead will navigate organizational politics, culture, and informal networks to drive AI governance adoption. They need to know how decisions are made and how work gets done in practice.

  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models

  • Works on complex projects of large scope projects may have significant and long-term impact

  • Provides solutions which may set precedent

  • Multidisciplinary collaboration skills: AI governance requires input from diverse functions like data protection, risk, legal, security, and more. The lead must be able to bring these siloed teams together to address AI risks holistically. Strong communication, facilitation and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, other related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is preferred.

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred

  • Strong grasp of how AI technologies work at a technical level and ability to explain complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in simple terms. audience. .

  • Ability to establish and manage governance programs including aligning existing governance mechanisms, processes and operating models across the organization. And ability to influence leaders, secure buy-in, and manage the overall governance program effectively.

  • Experience with organizational transformation through AI.

  • Curiosity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for driving change.

  • Agility and proactivity to stay on top of emerging trends and requirements as AI technologies and regulations evolve.

Anticipated salary range: $103,500-$147,900
