Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

• Unloads containers upon arrival at docks.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas, and fills out "inventory transfer" documents.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items and distributes items.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Picks and packs orders on pick list and prints labels for shipment.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens crates, boxes and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Prepares parcels for mailing.
• Performs daily cycle counts.
• Assists with physical inventory on an annual basis.
