US CENSUS BUREAU Field Representative (Dimmit County) in CARRIZO SPRINGS, Texas

**[We are hiring FIELD REPRESENTATIVE to interview selected households for our surveys. Help ensure that your community is represented!

*[Schedule: *[Day shift. Weekly day range: Monday to Friday; Weekends as needed.

[Field representatives' hours vary and there is flexibility in their schedule; however, you are expected to work the hours needed to complete your caseload in the most efficient way. Generally, this involves working evening and weekend hours when people are usually home and available for interview.Although field representatives do part of their work from their home, such as make phone calls to set up appointments and route planning, the majority of their work is conducting interviews at respondents' homes.

  • Conducts interviews primarily in person (door to door) and when requested may conduct phone interviews to collect survey or census data as required within an assigned geographic area.
  • Communicates with respondents, supervisors, and other persons as appropriate.
  • Understands survey materials in order to explain the purpose of surveys, ask questions as worded on the questionnaire or survey instrument, and enters accurate and complete information into a laptop computer or onto survey forms.
  • Maintains personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed.
  • Completes and attends training as necessary in-person or online.

You must be 18 years old.

You must be a US Citizen.

You must have good hearing and the ability to read small print found on surveys. You must be in good physical condition to drive, climb stairs, and walk for extended periods.

You will occasionally be required to lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

You must be willing to work days, evenings, and weekends.

You must be willing to work a varying number of hours per week.

You must be willing to occasionally travel overnight for training and work assignments.

You must have access to a vehicle (or public transportation) so that you can complete work throughout the assigned geographic area.
