Black Bear Casino Resort Marketing Director, Full Time in Carlton, Minnesota

General Summary: Responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies related to advertising, public relations, promotions, player development and direct marketing while maintaining and delivering brand consistent messages. Has oversight of Marketing, Players Club and Host/Player Development. Will assist Corporate Marketing Director with overall marketing plan. Primary Responsibilities: Designs, implements, maintains and evaluates all marketing plans related to advertising, public relations, promotions, player development and direct marketing to support sales and profit objectives. Responsible for the development and implementation of an effective program for player development. Oversee and provide strategic direction to staff in carrying out advertising, player development, promotions and public relations functions. Research, analyze and monitor industry trends, competitive set, financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on marketing opportunities and stay competitive in the industry. Develop and execute short- and long-term advertising and marketing plans to enhance the opportunity for market share and profit growth. Interfaces regularly with General Manager, key marketing members and other key management members to ensure successful implementation of all marketing plans. Prepares monthly reports for management on key metrics developed for all direct report departments. Understands and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures. Develops and distributes monthly club activity reports. Prepares yearly departmental budgets and ensures maximum utilization of that budget. Collaborates with other departments on special events and/or promotions. Maintains appropriate staffing levels by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, assisting with career development, disciplining and terminating employees, as needed. Facilitates the flow of information throughout the marketing areas by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled departmental meetings with all employees. Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests. Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees by setting positive examples at all times. Instill an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns and resolve conflicts. Supervises, directs and participates in the growth and development of all direct reports in the performance of their duties. Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems. Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers. Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community. Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
