Actalent Test Engineer IV in Carlsbad, California
Job Title: Test Development EngineerJob Description
We are looking for a Test Engineer IV to join our team. In this role, you will handle engineering tasks that involve a variety of test-engineering practices to create test packages for production use. You will be responsible for designing and documenting Functional ATE for digital and analog audio products. This position is ideal for a hands-on individual who is dedicated to continuous improvement within a lean manufacturing environment. It is not solely an office-based role; you will engage with various team members, including Engineers, Product Design, Operations Planning, and Assembly, in a cross-functional manner.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and document ATE and ICT (HP/Keysight 3070) fixtures.
Develop and debug ATE and ICT software programs.
Implement cutting-edge test methodologies.
Design, fabricate, test, and debug manufacturing testers.
Provide support to other departments as needed (Manufacturing, Design, etc.).
Oversee prototype and pilot production activities.
Assess new product designs (documentation and equipment).
Create test development plans in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams.
Specify manufacturing processes.
Generate test procedures and test data sheets.
Perform time and cost estimates.
Regularly train Testers and Technicians on Electronic Theory and Product Operation.
Essential Skills
Over 7 years of relevant experience preferred, open to less years if technical qualifications are met.
In-depth understanding of both analog and digital electronic circuits and design.
Strong programming skills in both low and high-level programming languages.
Ability to apply statistical analysis methods to enhance process control.
Proficiency in programming ATE test systems.
Proficiency in programming embedded test systems and use of Lean Manufacturing tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify cause and effect relationships and develop potential process improvements.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required, EE preferred).
Master's degree in Engineering (preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in ICT (In Circuit Test) development for automated test equipment.
New product development experience for test fixtures.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals: analog/digital circuit design, B.S.E.E., analog circuit, digital circuit, lean manufacturing, Altium.
DFT (Design for testability) experience or collaboration (nice to have).
Experience with Altium, schematic capture design (nice to have).
Experience with ICT Keysight I-3070 Series 5 or Agilent (nice to have).
Work Environment
Fully onsite. You will work under a senior EE and alongside a senior Test Engineer and Junior Test Engineer. You will work cross-functionally with technicians, EEs, the manufacturing/production team, the defect analysis team, and other departments. The work environment emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement within a lean manufacturing context.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $112700.00 - $150200.00
