Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant for our client's organization in Carlsbad, California.

They are a non-profit providing educational resources to their local community, and looking for a skilled accountant to join their team!

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing key roles in Non-Profit financial auditing, ensuring all revenues and expenditures are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP requirements, and supervising accounting staff as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all actual revenues and expenditures are properly recorded in accordance with GAAP requirements

• Oversee monthly and year-end close functions of the accounting system

• Oversee the preparation of 1099 and 1096 annual reporting

• Handle daily cash transactions, including deposits and reconciliation

• Perform a key role in the annual financial audit process, including preparing schedules, coordinating with other departments to gather information as needed, preparing adjusting journal entries, and compiling financial reports

• Maintain the fixed asset and depreciation schedule, ensuring the information is up-to-date

• Manage the monthly forecasting process with budget managers for both operating results and capital expenses

• Maintain long-range planning model and provide analysis to support the assumptions used to forecast the future

• Perform ad hoc financial analysis for initiatives and proactive suggestions on opportunities for improvement

• Other duties as assigned based on business needs and requirements.

Requirements • Must possess expertise in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required

• Skilled in Bank Reconciliations

• Must be proficient in General Ledger management

• Expertise in Journal Entries is necessary

• Must be adept at Month End Close tasks

• Experience in Audit Preparation is required

• Must have knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting

• Proficiency in Fixed Asset Depreciation is necessary
