How Will You Make an Impact?
Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) Controllership is a new team within the Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporate Financial Reporting function. Reporting to the ESG Controller, you will help develop and maintain processes and controls across enterprise functions in support of our ESG and other non-financial reporting requirements. This role requires expertise in internal controls frameworks, process documentation, and data governance to help ensure adherence to ESG and other regulatory requirements. As you will collaborate with subject matter authorities in a cross-functional and matrixed organization, you will display outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
What Will You Do?
Assist in the development and implementation of business process, data, and controls as foundation to enterprise ESG and regulatory reporting. Help establish a data governance policy and procedure framework to ensure ongoing adherence to a robust internal controls environment.
Partner with business owners to ensure the implementation and assurance readiness plans for various ESG reporting-related initiatives. Develop expertise on ESG trends, frameworks, regulatory requirements to help inform operational plans, reporting philosophies, and metrics. In addition, you will:
Mentor cross-functional ESG teams on appropriate process and internal control documentation.
Manage reporting timelines to ensure deliverables meet internal and external requirements.
Support the ESG Controller and other finance teams to complete external assurance and auditor reviews of reports.
Education & Experience:
Undergraduate degree required preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems
CPA or CIA (or equivalent), active or inactive license desired
5+ years of accounting and/or auditing experience, preferably with sophisticated, multinational enterprises is required
Experience in internal controls, audit, or accounting is required
Experience in process mapping and/or process improvements is strongly desired
Familiarity or curiosity with ESG reporting regimes is preferred
Knowledge & Skills:
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Strong project management skills
Experience with business process mapping, continuous improvement identification
Strong analytical skills with ability to identify process, data, or control gaps
Capable of collaborating with diverse global teams
Self-motivated with a bias for action
Act with integrity and demonstrate strong professional judgment
Maintain a positive demeanor and desire for continuous improvement
Travel Requirements:
- Less than 25% domestic/international travel required

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
