RQ Construction, LLC Mechanical Lead Estimator in Carlsbad, California

Since 1996, RQC, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We now have a national presence with current projects spanning coast to coast, as well as internationally. Headquartered in beautiful Carlsbad, CA, we are a full-service Design-Build company. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market. We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Estimator with a focus in Sheet Metal Estimation to join our Mechanical Department in our Carlsbad, CA office. This position will be responsible for preparing cost estimates alongside our Mechanical Pre-Construction team. This should all be done with accuracy and in within the time allotted by the Mechanical Estimating Department processes. Local candidates (to San Diego) will be given priority.
Requirements are as follows:
A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required.
Ten (10) or more years of work experience in mechanical estimating at the subcontractor level is required. Sheet Metal experience preferred.
Conceptual and Hard-Bid estimating
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.)
Specific software literacy (On-Screen Take Off, Adobe Reader, etc.)
Previous work experience in the construction design-build industry, including work with contractors and subcontractors in public markets is preferred.
