Essential Functions

Creates and implements high-quality, efficient automated systems that align with our company’s needs and goals. Responsibilities will include designing and implementing automated systems to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency; and developing tools and processes to increase efficiency of field operations. Ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of hardware operations, automation technology, and work methods. Experience with robotic automation systems, control systems, and data acquisition systems is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for automation within operational processes.

  • Develop tools and processes to improve field operational efficiency.

  • Design, program, simulate and test automated machinery and processes.

  • Install, maintain, and repair automation equipment and systems.

  • Train staff on automation systems operation and procedures.

  • Keep up to date with latest technologies and trends in automation systems.

  • Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot automation system problems.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure relevance throughout the development process.

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role.

  • Understanding of automation technologies, control systems, and PLC.

  • Knowledge of robotic automation systems, hardware operations, and industrial automation software.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to project manage and work within a team.

  • Strong understanding of safety and data handling procedures.

  • BSc degree in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Ability to travel as needed

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent. 1 year experience. Basic application of analytical skills. Intermediate verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate problem-solving skills. Knowledge of general principles, concepts, theories, and practices of applicable discipline.

Position Summary

Works in any of the following disciplines: Quality, Software, Mechanical, R&D, Petroleum, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Reservoir. Under limited supervision, recommends appropriate designs, materials, and/or techniques to carry out a specified sequence of standard engineering tasks. Receives specifications and design constraints from team leader. May provides product support, manufacturing support, and failure analysis. May assist technical support teams in testing new applications and problem solving. Handles special projects, as assigned.
