*SUMMARY: * Responsible for performing various tasks including: setup, run, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on assigned machines and supporting equipment. Responsible for inspecting grating to specifications or job traveler and able to make necessary adjustments and tool changes to maintain quality specifications. Drives performance achievement relative to key performance indicators to include safety, quality, productivity and profitability. This position will include leading and working with several others as part of a team and will require the ability to communicate, coordinate, train and work well with others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow all operating procedures, work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement focused environment. 
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities relative to improving key performance indicators. 
  • Anticipates, oversees, reviews and completes setup adjustments to ensure 1st article success. 
  • Run, adjust, troubleshoot of press weld and supporting equipment, performing press adjustments, die settings, materials used, proper spacing requirements and what programming is needed to ensure the safe operation of press welder and overall quality of products produced.
  • Troubleshoot faults/failures leveraging understanding of machine programming logic and machine operational parameters and capabilities.
  • Maintain regular communication with press weld team, material handlers and leadership, relaying any relevant information, including material, paperwork, supplies, inventory, quality, productivity, equipment, and personnel issues that have or could impact the machine operation.
  • Identify, escalate, issue non-conformance while maintaining focus on minimizing scrap and rework operations.
  • Assist team with the loading of components, unload the grating panels or where needed to keep teams on track to meet or exceed established productivity expectations.
  • Take a key role in machine upkeep, machine health and reliability through proactive participation in daily and continual preventative maintenance activities.  
  • Accurately complete necessary paperwork and time sheets to properly manage inventory and job cost.
  • Keep personal and common work areas clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties and cross-train as assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCIES: In addition to a High School diploma or equivalent, the following skills and/or experience are required: 1 plus years of machine operation training and/or demonstrated experience as required; Troubleshooting and mechanical ability as demonstrated; Able to use and operate safely various hand and power tools; Able to use and operate safely overhead cranes and fork lifts; Able to read and understand both metric and standard tape measures; Able to read and interpret documents such as travelers, various procedures and instructions; Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10's and 100's without the use of a calculator; Able to perform mathematical operations of whole numbers and fractions in both standard and metric units of measurements; Read, interpret and comprehend blueprint drawings;
