Job Description: The City of Canton is hiring for multiple full-time Police Officer (First Shift / Second Shift / Third Shift) positions.

STARTING SALARY: $54,590 + Contractual Benefits

General Statement of Duties:

A Police Officer shall be responsible through intermediate supervision to the Commanding Officer for the efficient operation of his/her assignment in conformance with established procedures and policies commensurate with his/her level of responsibility. The Police Officer shall exercise authority with the obligations imposed upon him/her by oath of office and be accountable to his/her superior officers, promptly obeying legitimate orders.

Distinguishing Features of Class:

The Police Officer shall be available for duty at all times and respond punctually to all assignments. The individual shall familiarize him/herself with administrative policy and by study and research become familiar with advanced techniques and ideas designed to improve police performance.

Examples of Work:
