DESCRIPTION:

Ohio Gratings is seeking a skilled Machine Maintenance Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing a variety of machinery and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and press machines.

Note: This job description outlines primary responsibilities, but additional duties may be assigned as needed, and responsibilities may evolve over time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment for proper functioning.
  • Listen for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions and consult with production employees and supervisors.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts to ensure smooth operation.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lay out, assemble, and install new manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and keep detailed records.
  • Work with hand tools, welders, high lifts, various oils, and solvents.
  • Utilize computer systems for documentation and reporting.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations set forth by Ohio Gratings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5-10 years of experience preferred, with expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems (480V).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Advanced blueprint reading, wiring schematic interpretation, and understanding of equipment drawings.
  • Ability to use precision tools such as dial calipers and tape measures.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including arithmetic, algebra, and geometry, to solve maintenance issues.
  • Knowledgeable in metal fabrication equipment, welders, cranes, lift trucks, and PLC/CNC systems.

*WAGE: * $23.00 - $30.00/hour + $2/hour perfect attendance bonus AND $3,000 sign on bonus
