Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is seeking a full-time Lead Custodian/Custodial Trainer to join our team in Canton, Ohio!

The Lead Custodian position leads day-to-day janitorial services for the Goodwill Campus and trains the janitorial staff. They keep the facility clean and orderly, collaborate regarding meeting room assignments and room set-up, maintain an established inventory of custodial products, and schedule work performed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the agency's custodial staff.

• Provide training/hands-on work experience for employees/program participants through direct supervision, demonstration, and instruction. Assisting in the development of appropriate work behaviors/attitudes.

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, practices, CARF standards, and safety/security measures.

• Responsible for securing building(s) by setting alarms.

• To be capable and responsible for the proper use of all equipment and supplies used. The efficient and safe usage of all cleaning chemicals, ensuring usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Observe behavior, record relevant information, and communicate regularly with Mission Services staff regarding participant's progress verbally and by completing weekly performance evaluations for participants as assigned.

• Other duties as assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES: Integrity, respect for all, customer service, safety, results, teamwork, and planning and organizing.SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• A minimum of two years of experience in housekeeping is required.

• Supervisory experience preferred.

• Experience working with persons with disabilities preferred.

• Familiarity with basic computer usage is preferred.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to: constant reaching, handling/ fingering; frequent standing, sitting, walking, balancing, stooping/bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting; occasional climbing including but not limited to ladders/scaffolding; constant near vision; frequently lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 lbs. Indoor/outdoor work environment in all seasons.

• Must be able to maintain 100% productivity without direct supervision.
