The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for:

• Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.

• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.

• Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment.

• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Performs a variety of tasks.

• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

• Typically reports to a manager.

• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Education/License/Certification:

• An Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program is required.

• A credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

• A current Respiratory Therapist license issued by the state of Mississippi.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are a requirement. (NRP and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.)

Experience/Skills:

• Seasoned experience in Ventilators, High Flow O2 and BiPAP is a must.

• Cerner charting experience is a plus.

• Must possess a positive attitude and good time management skills.

• Must be confident working independently.

• Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

About the Job:

• We are seeking a seasoned respiratory therapist that has experience working alone at times or is confident enough to do so when asked. We have a 67 bed facility including : ICU, ER, Med Surg. (No L&D services)

• Part Time Position (24 hrs. per week) (weekends)
