Community Health Systems Respiratory Therapist Part Time in CANTON, Mississippi
As a Respiratory Therapist, at Merit Health Madison, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best-providing quality care to our patients! The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for:
Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.
Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Typically reports to a manager.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Education/License/Certification:
An Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program is required.
A credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
A current Respiratory Therapist license issued by the state of Mississippi.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are a requirement. (NRP and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.)
Experience/Skills:
Seasoned experience in Ventilators, High Flow O2 and BiPAP is a must.
Cerner charting experience is a plus.
Must possess a positive attitude and good time management skills.
Must be confident working independently.
Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
About the Job:
We are seeking a seasoned respiratory therapist that has experience working alone at times or is confident enough to do so when asked. We have a 67 bed facility including : ICU, ER, Med Surg. (No L&D services)
Part Time Position (24 hrs. per week) (weekends)
