Thompson Health Pharmacy Technician - Part Time in Canandaigua, New York

Description

Part time, 20 hours per week, days, evenings, with rotating weekends and holidays

MAIN FUNCTION

  • Assists in the nonprofessional aspects of preparing and distributing medications & performs the clerical duties of the dept.

  • All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).

REQUIRED JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.

  • Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in aseptic techniques for the preparation of IV solutions.

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Hospital’s Information System (Pharmacy and B/AR), as well as the ability to work in Microsoft’s Word and Excel.

  • Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system’s goals and expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • Associate Degree preferred.

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required.

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.

Pay Range: $17.61 - $21.00

Starting Pay: Based on Experience
