Thompson Health Nurse Manager - Specialty Practices - NEW POSITION! in Canandaigua, New York

UR Thompson Health is seeking a professionally mature, energetic, and creative individual who demonstrates leadership qualities demanded in the rapidly changing health care environment.Join our team as a Nurse Manager in our Ambulatory Specialty Practices! These practices include OB/GYN, Gastroenterology, Wound, Pain, Pulmonary and Surgical Services.

Full time - Days

    Main Function:

  • Provides operational and clinical management oversight for Specialty Practices

  • Assures regulatory and legal compliance

  • Leads the unit in a goal directed manner, which is congruent with the nursing service, hospital and system goals and philosophies

  • Provides leadership, vision and direction for the department

  • Provides on site leadership, training and evaluation to ensure nurses meet required competencies and regulations

  • Works closely with the Nursing Director and providers while exercising frequent independent judgment in monitoring the day-to-day operation of the practices

  • Excellent customer service and clinical quality are articulated and formulated into operational plans and monitoring of outcomes

  • Responsible for fostering interdisciplinary collaborative relationships with the provider team and the institution as a whole

  • Experienced in training and evaluating staff

  • Experienced in clinical quality management and clinical process improvement

  • Willing to learn, take risks, and pursue excellence

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with physicians, staff and patients

  • Works collaboratively with Nurse Director of Specialty Practices to develop and sustain Magnet culture across the organization

  • Actively supports departmental, hospital and system goals and imperatives while demonstrating the CARES values at all times

    Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license required

  • Current CPR certification

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to form collaborative partnerships across all service settings

  • Working knowledge of the provision of health care in a variety of settings

  • Proficient in the use of EMR; ability to create reports independently

  • Competent in Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Follow through on projects and activities

  • Ability to assimilate new information and technologies into daily work

    Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing

  • BSN required

    Experience:

  • At least 3 years of management/leadership experience required

  • Evidence of career advancement and progressive increase in responsibilities is essential

  • Preferred experience: 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience

  • Office based experience preferred

  • Experience in OB/GYN, Gastroenterology, Wound, Pain, Pulmonary and Surgical Services preferred

  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) experience and/or certification preferred

  • Electronic Medical Record experience required

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Able to juggle multiple priorities

Position Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000/year

Starting Pay: Based on experience
