Lindsay Precast, Inc. HR Manager - EHS Coordinator in Canal Fulton, Ohio

SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Manager - EHS Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the administration of corporate and/or site-specific Human Resource programs, processes and policies to ensure consistency and applicability. In addition, this position will oversee the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and safety programs for all employees. This position reports to the Vice President - Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Human Resources

  • Providing recruiting and staffing services for the site for full time, collegiate, temporary or seasonal hires as it applies;

  • Administering employee evaluation process for new hires, hourly and salary employees as the internal process requires.

  • Assisting employees and supervision with HR related questions, interpreting and explaining HR policies, and resolving employee relation issues.

  • Accurately inputting personnel information into the benefits system, answering their questions on benefits, administering the annual enrollment process and throughout the year as needed.

  • Provides oversight to the policy writing and approval process. Administers HR policies and processes uniformly and fairly.

  • Establishing strong and effective working relationships with internal/external customers to promote and support positive employee relations, company culture and employee engagement efforts.

    EHS

  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training and safety programs to evaluate and measure results; modify programs as needed; develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.

  • Develop training programs, provide effective growth and development opportunities in safety and production areas.

  • Develop and maintain property communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of tracking, trending and safety information.

  • Exemplify the desired safety culture and philosophies of the organization. Work effectively as a team member with managers and employees.

  • Conducts claims investigations and evaluates risk management claims information to identify significant hazards and loss trends; identifies and recommends preventive measures and corrective actions.

  • Performs regular physical inspections of Company grounds, buildings, equipment, and operations; identifies hazards and incidents of regulatory non-compliance and recommends corrective measures. Minimum 1 written inspection form per month.

  • Is the resource an compliance leader for environmental and sustainability of the site. Will be the leader for our ISO 14001 envronmental certification.

    Note: Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • 2-3 years experience in a combination of Human Resources, Environmental and Safety with a broad array of competencies.

  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be able to present training in large and small group settings

  • Planning/organizational skills with strict attention to details.

  • Willingness to seek out and obtain continued safety/EHS training
