Responsibilities You will be responsible for the configuration, analyzing and managing databases for automated information systems within SWRFT. You will perform feasibility studies in order to develop new automation systems to meet user requirements. You will examine and evaluates alternative means of satisfying user requirements. You will make recommendations to users regarding the most effective and efficient automation and database management approaches. You will act as systems manager for government designed transportation programs GMEAMP, PCTRANS and an off the shelf, Fleet Management Program (FleetAnywhere). You will provide technical support for the SWRFT Regional Headquarters Element as well as installation sites located at MWTC, Bridgeport, MCAS, Miramar, MCRD, San Diego and MCAGCC, 29 Palms. You will serve as liaison with the HQMC (LFS-2) Class I System for transportation inventory accounting called Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS) as well as fleet management system (FleetAnywhere). You will be responsible for implementing new application, system configuration, system security procedures, determine directories volume and file structure. You will communicate frequently with Installation Fleet Manager Systems Coordinator to coordinate work and resolve problems. Instructs functional users on database and file accessing techniques, search strategies and backup and recovery techniques. You will monitors data input and output in order to ensure accuracy and minimize unusual production delays or problems caused by unforeseen contentions. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Translating technical specifications into integrated applications. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analyzing user requirements to determine if systems meet business needs. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Consulting with program managers to refine functional requirements. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interpreting and evaluating performance data. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing, configuring and managing databases for automated information systems, implementing new applications, and troubleshooting systems and regulating system procedures.
