ITW Electronics Assembly Equipment (a division of Illinois Tool Works, Inc. Position Summary:

Responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures to optimize price, delivery, and terms. Reviews purchase requisitions for proper authorization, identifies potential suppliers and issues requests for quotations. Involved in the analysis and selection of suppliers and issues purchase orders; follows-up and expedites as necessary. Monitors supplier KanBan program and initiates activities to manage bin sizing to meet cost, delivery, and inventory expectations within established guidelines. Participates in 80/20 analysis of suppliers and spend to define ITW Toolbox activities to drive continuous improvement.

Education/Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate the activities concerned with the timely procurement and planning of goods and services in accordance with targeted inventory levels and On-Time Shipment Requirements

• Manage MRD / Target Setting Process and work with Manufacturing and Secondary Operations to assure a timely flow of products to meet MRD Requirements

• Maintain primary and secondary suppliers to secure availability for core products

• Manage the supply base with emphasis on cost reduction, quality improvement, technology development, on-time delivery, inventory reduction, lead-time reduction, and customer focus

• Effectively communicate with internal teams acting as the liaison with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing with regard to the sourcing needs of existing products as well as new product development initiatives

• Engage in training to understand the ITW Toolbox and participate in Toolbox initiatives

• Other duties as assigned

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; QAD/MFG is a plus

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with employees, customers and suppliers

• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, has the ability to problem solve

• Ability to multi-task simultaneously while working on deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions/Physical demands:

• Office setting

• Able to sit at a desk/PC for long stretches and able to use standard office equipment

• Able to walk through production areas to address material concerns and identify opportunities for improvement

• Ability to travel to other locations for meetings, seminars, and training.

• This position requires 75% sitting, 20% standing, and 5% lifting up to 10 pounds
