About This Role:

The Staff Accountant is part of Forrester’s global revenue accounting team, which handles accurate, consolidated revenue recognition for Forrester entities. This is a key role within the finance organization and reports to the revenue accounting supervisor and collaborates with the revenue team to ensure worldwide revenue compliance with accounting and reporting standards. The potential candidate will assist the North American billing and collections team apart from handling revenue duties. This candidate will have cross-functional opportunities to partner with Forrester’s sales and consulting organizations on various business processes with financial statement impact.

Job Description:

  • Record daily cash activity for multiple Forrester entities.

  • Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations as part of the month-end close process.

  • Prepare journal entries and intercompany transactions.

  • Process contract changes and terminations, including revenue impact calculations.

  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for all applicable jurisdictions in the US.

  • Assist with the quarterly and annual external revenue audits.

  • Maintain customer account balances.

  • Identify and develop process/system improvements that increase the revenue team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Participate in ad hoc projects/revenue analyses as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • One to two years of accounting experience is preferred

  • Candidates interested in or actively pursuing a CPA license are strongly preferred.

  • Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Prior experience with PeopleSoft, OneSource Sales Tax, SAP Concur, and/or Salesforce is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
