Position Description

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University invites applicants for the Reginald A. Daly Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.

The Department seeks candidates in the broad field of Earth and Planetary Sciences including but not limited to geology, geochemistry, geobiology, geodynamics, petrology, geophysics, oceanography, atmospheric dynamics, climate science, atmospheric chemistry, Earth history, hydrology, mineralogy, mineral physics, paleomagnetism, seismology, and planetary sciences. We welcome methodological approaches that span field observations, lab-based science, theory, and computation. These honorific postdoctoral fellowships are awarded for a one-year period, with an anticipated extension for a second year. Daly fellows carry out independent research and may choose to interact with one or more research groups in the department. Applicants are encouraged to contact members of the department before applying.

The annual salary is $85,000 with a research allowance of $10,000 per year, and $2,000 relocation cost for the first year. Information about benefits can be found on the Harvard Human Resources website (https://hr.harvard.edu/post-doctoral-fellows) .

Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. or should be 2025-degree candidates. Completion of the Ph.D. is required by the time of the appointment.
