Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated interest in economics, international development, and policy in developing countries

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Knowledge of second language a plus

  • Demonstrated intermediate skill level with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience running online webinars and live streams, using Zoom and other software

  • Position requires adaptability, flexibility and the ability to multitask while maintaining excellent attention to detail

  • Successful candidate must be highly motivated and detail-oriented, have the ability to meet tight deadlines and strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with experience providing complex administrative and programmatic support, working well independently and also contributing as a valuable team member

  • Bachelor's Degree in economics or political science is a plus.

This is a hybrid position based on our campus in Cambridge, MA. Salary Range : $64.051 - $101.923

Note: Starting salaries typically fall in the lower half of the salary range; however, they are ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

  • Lead CID’s core offerings for students such as CID’s Student Ambassador program, Research Scholars program, and Student Seminars. This includes coordinating communications and logistics for CID’s Student Career Chats with international development practitioners, CID’s PhD Affiliate Program, and other student support networks.

  • Execute CID event programming including but not limited to the CID Friday Speaker Series, weekly PhD student development lunches, the weekly faculty lunch series (LIEP), and high-profile events.

  • Provides overall planning and event management, from planning through execution, working closely with CID leadership, for flagship events such as CID’s Global Empowerment Meeting (GEM) by identifying and coordinating with speakers, invited guests, event venues and vendors, coordinating audiovisual support and travel logistics, drafting invite campaigns and outreach, and assisting with day-of event logistics.

  • Create CID’s weekly events newsletter using tools such as Salesforce

  • Build out a CID alumni community that continues to stay engaged with CID after leaving campus.

  • Support CID’s internship and experiential learning programs, including logistical and program support for student interns and workshops before, during, and after their summer internships.

  • Coordinate other program activities including: Composing and editing letters, monitoring and answering correspondences, tracking and maintaining inventory of office supplies, liaising with office vendors as needed, coordinating maintenance of physical space and equipment.

  • May assist with HR support for staff, student and fellow appointments.

  • May research and prepare meeting/appointment and solicitation materials and background information for meetings.

CID’s Program and Events Coordinator is an integral part of the CID team, supporting a wide range of work at the Center focused on student and event support, alongside strategic projects that support the Center overall. This position provides an opportunity to be a part of CID’s close-knit team, play an active role in building an engaged student and alumni community, lead events featuring high-profile practitioners and researchers, and manage select programming initiatives at the Center.

The ideal candidate shall perform a wide range of high-level, critical, and complex administrative and support duties in a timely and accurate manner. This person is excited to advance CID’s mission to build a thriving world for all and actively build and support a tight-knit student, faculty, and alumni community. This candidate is excited to run CID’s student-centered programming and is prepared to think on their feet. They must be proactive in problem-solving, able to multitask and prioritize successfully, and have high-level communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. They must have the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders including students, faculty, donors, and prominent individuals and organizations with tact and diplomacy. This position requires working independently and as part of a team and with a high level of maturity and good judgment. Given the nature of this position, the candidate will be required to work mostly in-person at the CID offices, with some flexibility for remote work.
