Job Description
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, SCULPTING EVOLUTION & LIANG LAB, Media Lab, to join the Sculpting Evolution (https://www.media.mit.edu/groups/sculpting-evolution/overview/) research group and Professor Liang’s research group, focused on AI and the human experience; will manage both groups’ day-to-day spending, according to Media Lab Finance and MIT’s procedures and compliance policies; to establish and maintain effective office organization for administrative tasks; to greet visitors and coordinate sponsor visits and demonstrations of group research; to proactively engage colleagues, press, sponsors, collaborators, and visitors in person, by email, or by telephone, to build relationships; will triage inquiries and facilitate communication between students and professors; to serve as a resource for students and group members in relation to travel and group activities.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma; minimum three years of experience as an administrative assistant for senior managers; flexibility and an aptitude for handling a wide variety of duties; ability to learn quickly and work with critical time demands; robust organizational and customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills; discretion and diplomacy; advanced computer skills including proficiency with Macintosh computers and Microsoft Office; ability to work effectively with a creative and diverse group of people and contribute to each group’s community; accuracy, precision, and resourcefulness while efficiently multitasking in an environment with competing priorities. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree; interest in research group’s field; familiarity with website maintenance and MIT and Media Lab business applications, e.g. Google Workspace, Dropbox, SAPgui, Concur, Buy2Pay, Slack and project management tools like Trello, etc. Job #24396-5 This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. 9/11/2024
