Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is a full-time commitment of 12 weeks and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Our internship program provides you with the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.

How You Will Contribute:

The summer intern will join the Oncology Cell Therapy Precision and Translational Medicine team. You'll work on two broad projects:

  • Development of a QSP model to Enable Preclinical to Clinical Translation of VD1-Gamma Delta Cell Therapies in Oncology and Autoimmune Conditions: Summer Intern will be leveraging literature, and real-world dataset(s) to accomplish this task

  • Development of a QSP model to establish a Predictive Framework for Combination Strategy in Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Summer intern will be leveraging late phase clinical PK-PD-Translational Biomarker dataset(s) to come up with a platform model to explore different combinations in Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

Job Requirements:

  • This position is hybrid requiring to be on site for 2-3 days a week in Cambridge, MA

  • Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)

  • Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering.

  • Highly reliable and a strong team player

  • Flexible with an attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be a PhD Student with at least 1-2 years in within the PhD program. Preferred programs will be Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineer

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills

  • Deadline-driven with an elevated level of organizational and planning skills

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills

  • Proven record of accomplishment of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity

  • Global mindset to grow in a diverse work environment

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

We understand compensation may be an important factor as you consider an internship opportunity. We are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:

  • Paid sick time

  • Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
