Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training center located in beautiful Callicoon, NY. We are a Center which uses student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve. We are looking for exceptional Recreation Advisor to join our growing team of professionals.
Recreation Advisor position is Full Time and reports Wednesday through Sunday 3p-12a

Recreation Advisor Responsibilities Include:
Recreation Advisors are responsible for working with Recreation/Evening/Weekend Programs team to provide students with comprehensive evening and weekend programs. Promotes health and wellness and education and training through overseeing the recreation and evening/weekend activities as outlined on the approved schedules.
• Collaborates with Academic Instructors to develop individual tutoring and evening and weekend studies and activity plans to meet student needs to include virtual learning.
• Assists with the supervision of a comprehensive and diverse recreation program.
• Coordinates with off-Center partners to deliver academic and recreation services.
• Coordinates recreation and evening/weekend activities with CPP and Social Development to include evening and virtual learning programming.
• Documents student participation and accountability during recreation and evening/weekend activities.
• Responsible for the overall appearance, condition and organization of the recreation and evening/weekend department facilities.
• Provides transportation as required.
• Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
Qualifications
Recreation Advisor Qualifications & Experience:
Post-Secondary Degree required OR one-year related experience working with youth required. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers' License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
