Compensation
Thecompensationfor this role is $170,000 - $200,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in San Diego. The salary range may also be modified in the future.
About the Role:
LS Power is seeking a dynamic, commercially minded individual to manage origination and business development activities in the power and energy sector that take advantage of LS Power’s capabilities, asset base and resources. Opportunities to be pursued could relate to existing LS Power owned generation, renewable generation, energy storage, transmission, green hydrogen and other power/energy focused segments. Responsibilities would include prospecting, identification, due diligence and prioritization of profitable business opportunities. Assist with bid proposal processes in response to formal solicitations, customer relationship building and origination of bilateral deals. manage contract negotiations related to specific business opportunities or acquisitions.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
Identify and analyze unmet needs and industry trends and develop, diligence and implement strategies and ideas for commercialization of projects or investments
Communicate with transmission, development, operations and commercial personnel within the company in the development of business strategies
Provide insight and feedback to the team on attractive business opportunities to pursue
Originate bilateral new business opportunities
Respond to RFPs and negotiate contracts for successful awards (e.g. PPAs)
Identify and pursue development acquisition and/or partnership opportunities
Qualifications

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, economics, business, or a related field
Have 4-10 years of energy-related business development experience including originating/negotiating PPAs and/or asset development or acquisitions
Are a solutions-focused team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team as well as work independently
Have excellent time management and organizational skills
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment
