The Welder position is responsible for supporting all manufacturing operations for which the employee is trained and qualified to perform, including foundation skills of basic safety and environment, blueprint reading for measurements to plan layout and weld procedures. This position will mainly focus on welding and fabricating duties with various components for welding according to specification per blueprints. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. The Opportunity ... Handles raw materials by retrieving stock from racks, shearing, breaking, and cutting the stock to size, Measures materials properly to be cut, and welded deburring the edges of the material. Prepares the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. Join / fabricate, and or repair various types of metal objects using an array of welding techniques such as MIG and TIG welding, Carbon Arc, and other techniques. Operate grinders, other power tools. Ensures that work areas are clean and orderly. Uses and maintains equipment responsibly. Complies with all Safety rules and regulations, including: Compliance with all written safety procedures, policies, and work practices. Reports all incidents including injuries and illnesses, near misses, property damage, chemical spills, and fires to a Team Lead immediately. Participates in safety meetings, training, and committees. Reports all hazards, unsafe conditions, or unsafe behaviors to a Team Lead. Intervenes with co-workers when unsafe behaviors are observed. Conducts required inspections.
