Job Title: Wastewater Operator - Wastewater Treatment Specialist
Job Description
The Wastewater Operator is responsible for the operation of wastewater treatment plants and related facilities. This role ensures the efficient and effective treatment of wastewater to meet environmental standards and regulations. The operator will monitor, inspect, adjust equipment and maintain accurate records to support optimal plant performance. This is a 1st shift role starting at $30-$34 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities
Operate and Maintain Equipment: Monitor and control the operation of wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, valves, aerators, and other mechanical equipment.
Conduct Tests and Inspections: Collect and analyze samples to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Record data and report any abnormalities or violations.
Monitor System Performance: Use SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems to monitor plant performance, make necessary adjustments, and ensure continuous operation.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all staff. Participate in safety training and report any safety hazards.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance. Prepare and submit reports as required.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent. An Associate degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Georgia State License 3 certification.
Previous experience in wastewater treatment operations is preferred.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills.
Proficiency in using computer systems and software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with flow control, pumps, titration, and pH probes.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
